The Maugus Club of Wellesley, Massachusetts boasts one of the strongest badminton memberships in the state, with numerous players holding state or national rankings. All levels of play are encouraged on the three regulation-sized doubles courts. The third court was added in the fall of 2006 when the gym was enlarged and renovated.
Badminton Junior Program
The Maugus Junior Program was founded 15 years by Head Coach Kirill Boyarin. In its early stages there were less than ten kids training a few times a week and traveling to local tournaments. It has now grown to one of the longest running and most successful programs in the United States with over thirty committed players training up to six times a week and traveling to tournaments around the world. It is run by Kirill and Sasha Boyarin, who are both USA Badminton Certified coaches. The program has trained athletes who have won national junior championships, international Pan American championships, and along with Coach Sasha Boyarin have represented the program and its coaches in places as far as Hong Kong, China, and Japan. The Maugus Junior Program is proud to train athletes who go on to be successful players and people and to represent themselves and their Club around the world.
